My Honest Smile Brilliant Teeth Whitening Kit Review & Giveaway | Worth it?

Hello world! So if you’re like me, then you’ve either tried to whiten your teeth before or you’ve at least thought about it. Today I’m going to share with you a little bit of my teeth whitening journey along with a review of my newest find, an at home whitening kit by Smile Brilliant.

I’m going to start off by telling you a little bit about my teeth prior to using this kit. I would say that they weren’t sensitive but that they had the potential to become sensitive (make sense?). I would also say that my teeth were moderately stained- not yellow, but not white. The staining was also concentrated mostly in the area closer to my gums, an ombre effect if you will. So like most teeth whitening enthusiasts I’ve searched online for at home teeth whitening solutions, only to find a billion different ways that may work-key word MAY! Plus the added bonus that it’ll probably damage your teeth, just what we need right?

Long story short, I finally gave in and bought whitening strips. I’d like to have a definitive answer of whether or not they worked, but the truth is that I didn’t see results fast enough so I stopped using them. After that, I stopped looking for whitening products, but luckily, Smile Brilliant contacted me shortly after.

When Smile Brilliant offered to send me a kit to try out for review, of course I said yes! There are a few things you should know about Smile Brilliant. First, they offer at home teeth whitening kits that are vegan and cruelty free. Second they use custom-fitted trays. Third, Smile Brilliant offers a money back guarantee (within 45 days in the US) if you’re not satisfied with your results. Finally, they even offer whitening services to many dentists that don’t do them in office.

This whitening kit is actually pretty awesome. It comes with everything you need to create your custom-fitted trays, whitening gel, and desensitizing gel (optional). Before creating my trays I spoke to my best friend, a dental assistant, and she informed me that they use the same process at her office. The tips she gave me on creating my trays were the same exact tips that Smile Brilliant offered in the kit, so I felt like they really knew what they were doing. Also, It’s worth noting that you get extra product for creating your molds just in case you mess up (which I did #oops)! The molds for the trays were quick and easy to make and it only took about a week to receive my custom-fitted trays.

Once I received my trays I couldn’t wait to start whitening my teeth. I was however a little weary because I was worried that they would cause sensitivity. Smile Brilliant recommends that users whiten their teeth anywhere from 45 minutes to 3 hours and follow up with their desensitizing gel for 20 minutes. My first time whitening, I whitened for 45 minutes and then used the desensitizing gel. I experienced very little sensitivity (located in one area) so I decided to up the time for the next day. I didn’t expect to see results after the first use, but I must say, unlike the whitening strips, I actually saw a slight difference. The next day I whitened my teeth for about 2.5 hours and again had sensitivity in the same spot. After this I decided to follow the recommendation of whitening my teeth every other day and decided I would whiten my teeth in shorter sprints but with more sessions. I started to see a big difference after the third use. Instead of seeing the “ombre effect” of staining that I mentioned earlier, I started to notice that the color of my teeth was becoming more even. Also, it’s important to note that you should not add too much whitening gel to the trays! If you experience any burning sensation on your gums, it means you added too much gel, so my pro-tip is to add a thin strip of gel to the trays.

Overall, my teeth have significantly whitened with the help of this product. I mean, you can see the before and after pictures for yourself. I will however continue on with my whitening journey. I believe that with a few more sessions I’ll be able to achieve an even brighter smile and I’ll definitely update you all with my results!
