Hello ladies! A couple of week ago blogger babe Alex from luckeyalex.com invited me to attend an event that Rituals Cosmetics hosted at their new Bleecker Street store in NYC. After lusting over all their products Kristen from pinknenonlips.com and I were filled with joy when we received a swag bag that put all other swag bags to shame. Today I will be reviewing Rituals Cosmetics’ Zensation Foam Gel, Sakura Scrub, Indian Rose Scented Candle, and Magic Touch Whipped Body Cream.
About Rituals Cosmetics
Rituals Cosmetics is a luxury home & body brand with collections inspired by nature and based on Eastern traditions. They have a wide collection of products that range from perfumes and scented candles to makeup and tea! After conducting some research on the brand I discovered that their products are 100% paraben free, plastic microbead free, and are not tested on animals. They also only use natural, renewable, and organic ingredients in their products. So before testing out these products I knew that I was dealing with a quality company that cares about our health, planet, and furry friends!
Sakura Sugar Body Scrub
The first product I tested out was the Sakura Sugar Body Scrub. I am very fond of body scrubs and let me tell you, this one is my new favorite. I used this product in the shower to exfoliate my skin. Since it is a sugar scrub, it is on the grainier side and while I wouldn’t say that it is rough on the skin, it is also not gentle. However, I personally have sensitive skin and this scrub did not irritate my skin at all and actually worked wonders for me. It left my skin feeling dare I say, as soft as a baby’s bottom. I attribute this to the exfoliation of the scrub and the abundance of softening oils inside the scrub (pictured above.) The instructions say to use it one to two times a week and due to the deep exfoliation you get I would have to say I agree! The scent of this product is stronger than I had anticipated but by no means is that a bad thing! I am very sensitive to scents, I’m talking my eye hurts and then I get a massive headache (not pretty) but this did not occur with the scrub. The scent is actually quite pleasant. One tip that I have, although obvious, is to make sure that you close this jar tightly so that the oils don’t spill out because they are magical!
Zensation Foam Gel
The next product I tested out while in the shower was the Zensation Foam Gel and believe me when I say that this product foams up like no other! It’s actually pretty cool watching how quickly it goes from being gel to foam. The instant it comes in contact with water, BAM, you have foam. Rice milk is used in this foaming gel to nourish your skin and leave it feeling silky smooth, which of course we all love. You will be enveloped in the scent of cherry blossom when using this gel. I would definitely call this product multipurpose because I also used it as a shaving cream and it was awesome. This shower gel in combination with the Sakura Scrub left me leaving like I had just walked out of a spa.
Indian Rose Scented Candle
After trying out the scrub and shower gel, I could not wait to test out the body cream, but first I lit the Indian Rose Scented Candle. I knew the scent would be strong because without even lighting the candle I could smell it a good distance away. As mentioned before, I have quite the sensitivity to certain scents so before I lit this candle I braced myself for the worst. After lighting the candle I proceeded to apply the Rituals Magic Touch Body Cream *Spoiler Alert: It’s also awesome!* and got dressed. About 5 minutes after I lit the candle, my cousin/soul sister, Kenya, came into my room and the first words out of her mouth were “You’re room smells good!” I hadn’t even realized how good it smelled until she said that. The point of this mini story was to show you that while this scent definitely takes over the room, it is still soft and lovely.
Magic Whipped Body Cream
Last but not least, I tried out the Magic Touch Whipped Body Cream. I didn’t realize that this cream was whipped when I first opened the jar, but the second I scooped some out it was the first thought I had. This body cream is thick and luxurious. It feels very good on the skin and soaks up quickly leaving the skin soft and just as the other products, silky smooth. I am happy to note that this cream did not leave that annoying residue that many other creams leave you with. I was also very fond of the cherry blossom scent that lingered on the skin long after I had applied the cream.
Overall Thoughts & Opinion
By now I’m pretty sure that you can all tell that I love these products. I would have to say that overall, each product has a very pleasant and natural perfume scent. They are all super luxe and not only did I enjoy these products, but I really enjoyed the experience that I had when I used them. Now I know that may sound silly, but I really felt pampered. I think that the company hit the nail on the head with their mission to make routines into rituals because that is what this process has become for me. Overall, my favorite product was the Sakura Body Scrub and I would definitely repurchase it. If I had to leave one of these products behind it would be the Indian Rose Scented Candle because I am usually drawn more to sweeter scents. However, I am open to trying other scents and will purchase this candle for my mother because she is obsessed with the scent and quality. As a side note, while I was at the event I happened to try on one of their perfumes (and proceed to get it in my mouth by accident) and the scent was amazing. So if you are looking for an everyday perfume I would recommend checking theirs out. If you are interested in these products, Rituals Cosmetics can be found at their website, and department stores such as Barney’s.
P.S. This post is in no way sponsored, Rituals Cosmetics doesn’t even know that I am doing this review. All this gushing about the brand is 100% honest!
Thank you for joining me On the Colorful Side! This was such a fun post to write and I will definitely be doing more beauty and cosmetic reviews in the near future!
