With the holiday season in full swing, it seems only fitting to do a holiday themed DIY! I am excited to share the start of a new series called “Dollar DIY” where every item featured in the posts will be from Dollar Tree or the dollar store. Today I will be sharing 3 fun and easy ways to wrap your gifts this year.
Ornament Incorporation
Incorporating ornaments into your gift wrapping is the perfect way to add dimension. As an added bonus, once removed by the recipient, the ornament can be hung up on their tree for years to come. For the gift pictured above I used gold gift ribbon, a Christmas tree ornament (which came in a pack of two), and snowman wrapping paper.
Nature Inspiration
Taking inspiration from the beauty of nature is a great way to spice up a gift. Using items such as garland, twine, and pinecones brings an earthy feel to any wrapping. This would be a fun way to wrap a gift for the nature lover! Above I used white wrapping paper, natural raffia, garland, gold sticks, and a plaid bow ornament (which came in a pack of three.)
Bow Appreciation
Using a ton of mini bows may be the easiest and cutest way to wrap up a gift. It’s as easy as peeling off the backing of the bows and placing them in a design that you love! I opted for what I’m going to call a waterfall effect/a work of art. For this gift, all I used was red & white chevron patterned gift wrapping, and a bunch of mini silver gift bows.
We all know that while fun, DIY’s can get pretty pricey, so I hope you all enjoyed the first installment of my new Dollar DIY series where everything is $1! Have fun wrapping your gifts and enjoy the holidays! If you’re not following me on my social medias @otcolorfulside, (especially Instagram) make sure you do because next week I am going on the trip of a lifetime and you won’t want to miss it!

I used to be bad at wrapping too! Sometimes all it takes is smacking a big bow on top for it to look pretty lol!
Nature-inspired gift wrapping is such a fresh and eco-friendly approach! It’s perfect for adding a touch of the outdoors to any present and a delightful surprise for any nature enthusiast
