Today I have a very exciting (and yummy!) Easter DIY to share with you all. These adorable Marshmallow Pops are not only fun to make but they are also very easy to make. So get together with some of your girlfriends or kids and get ready to make some cute Easter treats.
You Will Need:
- 10 oz. Coconut Flakes
- 1/2 cup White Sugar
- Pink, Yellow, & Orange Food Colors
- Lollipop Sticks
- Wax Paper
- 10 oz. Marshmallows
- 10 oz. Mini Marshmallows
- 12 oz. White Chocolate Chips
- 4 oz. Semisweet Chocolate Bar
- 3 Piping Bags (or Ziplock Bags)
Chick Marshmallow Pops:
Preparation:
- If you do not have colored sugar, add a couple of drops of yellow food coloring to white sugar to create your perfect shade of yellow.
- Add yellow coloring to 1/3 cup of coconut flakes.
- Melt about 2/8 of your white chocolate. I recommend melting your chocolate in 30-45 second intervals and mixing in between each period.
Step 1: Place marshmallows on lollipop sticks and dip them in warm white chocolate. To ensure that the chocolate doesn’t harden before completing all the steps, make sure you do each step one by one for each pop.
Step 2: Immediately after dipping the pops in chocolate, dip the chocolate covered marshmallows in yellow sugar.
Step 3: Melt the bar of semisweet chocolate and add it into a piping bag. Next, snip a small hole at the tip of the bag and create small dots of chocolate on wax paper. This will serve as the eyes for all the pops so I would recommend creating as many dots as you’ll need for all the pops.
Step 4: Melt 1/8 of the white chocolate and add orange coloring to it. Next, add the chocolate to a piping bag and snip a hole at the tip of the bag. Create triangle shapes and three connecting lines (pictured) on the wax paper to create the beak and feet of the chicks.
Step 5: It’s time to assemble the pops! The chocolate eyes, beak, and feet that were created in step 4 should pop right off the wax paper. Place a small dollop of chocolate on them and carefully place them on the Marshmallow pops. For the feathers of the chick, add a dollop of chocolate to the colored coconut flakes and place them on the pop as pictured.
Bunny Marshmallow Pops:
Preparation:
- Melt about 2/8 of your white chocolate. I recommend melting your chocolate in 30-45 second intervals and mixing in between each period.
Step 1: Place marshmallows on lollipop sticks and dip them in warm white chocolate. Also, stick two mini marshmallows together with white chocolate to create bunny ears. Then, allow the chocolate to harden before dipping the whole thing into white chocolate. To ensure that the chocolate doesn’t harden before completing all the steps, make sure you do each step one by one for each pop.
Step 2: Immediately after dipping the pops in chocolate, dip the chocolate covered pops and the bunny ears in coconut flakes. Once both are dry, attach the ears to the pops by placing a little bit of white chocolate on the base of each ear and pressing it down in place.
To create the whiskers, either pipe them directly onto the pop or onto the wax paper. I found that piping onto the wax paper created a cleaner look.
Step 4: Melt 1/8 of the white chocolate and add pink coloring to it. Next, add the chocolate to a piping bag and snip a hole at the tip of the bag. Create triangle shapes on the wax paper to create the nose of the bunnies and lambs.
Step 5: It’s time to assemble the pops! The chocolate eyes and noses that were created in step 4 should pop right off the wax paper. Place a small dollop of chocolate on them and carefully place them on the Marshmallow pops.
Lamb Marshmallow Pops:
Preparation:
- Cut half the bag of mini marshmallows into halves. Note, each lamb marshmallow pop will need about 36 mini marshmallow halves.
Step 1: Place marshmallows on lollipop sticks and dip them in warm white chocolate. To ensure that the chocolate doesn’t harden before completing all the steps, make sure you do each step one by one for each pop.
Step 2: Immediately after dipping the pops in chocolate, place 3/4 of the marshmallow halves all over the pops leaving only a little oval shaped space near the top/front of the pop for the face of the lamb. Use the remainder 1/4 of marshmallow halves to create the ears by pinching one end of the halves and attaching them with a dollop of chocolate. For an extra detail, add some pink chocolate to the center of the marshmallow ears.
